Carbon steel
The material with oxygen cutting will get good results.When oxygen was used as processing of gas, cutting edge will be mild oxidation.About 4 mm in thickness plate, can use nitrogen as high pressure processing gas cutting.In this case, the cutting edge will not be oxidized.More than 10 mm in thickness of plate, the use of laser special plate and workpiece surface in the processing oil can get good effect.
Stainless steel
Cutting stainless steel need: use oxygen, in the case of edge oxidation it doesn't matter;Using the edge of the nitrogen to get without oxidation without burr, no longer need to be dealt with.Oil film in the plate surface coating will get better effect of perforation, without reducing the processing quality.
aluminum
Despite the high reflectivity and thermal conductivity, the thickness of aluminum can cut under 6 mm, depending on the type of alloy and laser.When using oxygen cutting, cutting surface is rough and hard.With nitrogen, the cutting surface smooth.Because of its high purity pure aluminum is very difficult to cut, only "reflection absorption devices are installed on your system when cutting aluminum.Otherwise would destroy reflection optical components. 
titanium
Titanium plate with argon and nitrogen as processing of gas cutting.Other parameters can refer to nickel chrome steel. 
Copper and brass
Both material with high reflectivity and good thermal conductivity.Can use nitrogen gas cutting thickness 1 mm below the brass;Thickness of 2 mm below the copper can be cut, processing must use oxygen gas.Only the reflection absorption devices are installed on your system when cutting of copper and brass.Otherwise would destroy reflection optical components. 
Synthetic materials
Cutting synthetic materials to keep in mind when cutting the danger and may discharge of hazardous substances.Machinable synthetic materials: thermoplastic and thermosetting materials and synthetic rubber. 
Organic matter
In all organic material cutting there is a risk of fire (using nitrogen as processing of gas, also can use compressed air as the process gas).Wood, leather, cardboard and paper can use laser cutting, cutting edge will be scorched (brown).
